This finely-made sewing table of the Federal period (1790-1820) is an example of the work being done in the modest country cabinet shops in rural New Hampshire. Note the square tapered legs, and the delicately molded rim to keep pins and other small objects from rolling off the top. Mortise-and-tenon joinery, with dovetailed drawer. Clear cherry, with drawer interior of pine. Shown in Oil Finish. Height is 26". Top measures 16" x 16".
